4。5 starsI own probably close to 50 cookbooks。 Come On Over by Jeff Mauro is a welcome addition to my collection。 This book contains a ton of photos, stories behind the recipes, and helpful cooking tips and combined with the yummy sounding recipes it really is that ideal cookbook you love to keep around in your kitchen。Jeff Mauro, aka The Sandwich King, is the host of Food Network's The Kitchen。 Family and food go hand in hand and the recipes included in the book are great for regular weekday ty 4。5 starsI own probably close to 50 cookbooks。 Come On Over by Jeff Mauro is a welcome addition to my collection。 This book contains a ton of photos, stories behind the recipes, and helpful cooking tips and combined with the yummy sounding recipes it really is that ideal cookbook you love to keep around in your kitchen。Jeff Mauro, aka The Sandwich King, is the host of Food Network's The Kitchen。 Family and food go hand in hand and the recipes included in the book are great for regular weekday type meals as well as when you want to invite your extended family and friends over。 Jeff provides an introduction to his cooking philosophy and some background info about his upbringing living in a Chicago suburb。The chapters include recipes for Breakfast/Brunch, Game Day foods, Island dishes, Kid friendly type foods, Outdoor cooking, Healthy eating, Mexican food, Holiday foods, Pizza, Sandwiches, Chicago Foods, and Baking。 The recipes are a good mix of classic dishes as well as more modern ones。 The vast majority of ingredients listed in this cookbook can be found at a regular grocery store rather than a specialty shop。 I've been in a cooking slump recently in which I keep making the same dishes over and over and this book has inspired me to get in the kitchen and try these recipes。 In particular I am looking forward to testing out the Sweet Potato Potato Salad as that one seems like it could be a game changer in my household。I wish the book had included nutritional info for each recipe but that's just a tiny criticism。 Overall, it's a fantastic cookbook and just about every recipe has a photo。 Like I said, I have a lot of cookbooks and most of the time you are lucky if you get one photo per chapter。Thank you to William Morrow for providing me with an advance copy as part of #WMTastemakers。 All thoughts expressed are my honest opinion。 。。。more
